39 weeks pregnant – swine flu scare – I teach in a public school – should I stop working?

I teach in a large high school near DC with a large population of students who come from other countries (specifically Mexico). Also, the obvious number of students at our school I have daily contact with (over 3,000). Since I’m 39 weeks pregnant, I can’t help but feel like I should stay home to protect myself and baby from the possible infection of the swine flu. Is this something I should discuss with my doctor and would it be a medical reason to discontinue working? I don’t have leave left, so if I take off the last week before the baby, it would be unpaid leave. This would be unfortunate (since we need the $), but I can’t put a price on the health of myself and baby. Any thoughts?

Personally, yes. I think you should stop working… not because of the swine flu scare, but…. you’re 39 weeks pregnant. Haha. You need some time to rest! A weeks pay isn’t going to make much of a difference.
